LaTorre di Luco

The Watchtower of Luco

Overlooking the rolling hills of Tuscany, set in province of Siena between the enchanting medieval hill towns of San Gimignano and charming Monteriggioni. La Torre di Luco, the medieval watchtower stands guard over the town of Poggibonsi.  Florence, home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture, is a 40 minute drive away. Siena, UNESCO's historic centre is a short 30 minute drive away. It's strategic location and unique feature combination of nature and history are perfect for your Tuscan vacation.

The watchtower was built in the 11th century, but only in recent years was it transformed into vacation rental apartments. 3 large 2-3 bedrooms apartments with living rooms, dining rooms, fully equipped kitchens and bathrooms are located within the tower and the villa. Many original details such as wood beamed ceilings and terra-cotta tile floors were left untouched which keeps the feel of an ancient Tuscan house. Large classical Tuscan style fireplaces can also be found in 2 of the apartments.

La Torre di Luco, is part of the privately owned estate of Castello di Stozzavople. The medieval castle and watchtower are surrounded by 32 hectares of vineyards, 7 of which are Chianti Classico. The vineyards are protected by thick woods of regal live oaks. Olive trees are also grown here and its hardy silver green leaves add surprising notes to the music of the wind grazing across the rolling hills. Colorful wildflowers in the springtime paint the landscape with playful and joyous strokes. Blue skies stretch far into the Tuscan horizon. Puffy clouds hang like sweet cotton candy that feel almost reachable from the windows of Luco tower, allowing one to daydream of living "Under The Tuscan Sun".
